Work closely with the police and make reports of crime, no matter how small the incident




SECURITY and traffic congestion remain high on the list of concerns among the residents of Subang Jaya.

Many residents who met Selangor MCA chairman Datuk Donald Lim and Kelana Jaya MCA chairman Ong Chong Swen, who is also the Kelana Jaya parliamentary coordinator, during the MCA roadshow in Subang Jaya, brought up this issue during the casual chat sessions.

Lim and Ong started their walkabout at the USJ 2/4S field at 7am in the morning and met with residents who were practising tai chi or taking their morning walks.

USJ 2 resident Choong San Kon, 60, who has been staying in the area for more than 20 years, said there were still many incidents of break-ins and thefts in the area.

“Many neighbourhoods have resorted to setting up gated and guarded schemes to keep their houses safe but it is harder to implement this in our area because there are two schools and a mosque here. There are also many people coming in and going out of our area,” said Choong.

He said they did their best to keep their homes safe with measures like installing alarms and leaving the porch lights on at night.

Residents also urged Lim and Ong to look into the welfare of senior citizens because there was a big population of them in the USJ area.

“We have schemes like the BR1M (Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia) which we encourage those who qualify to apply for,” said Lim.

Lim and Ong then went on to the USJ4/7 field, where there was a bigger turnout of people who came to meet them and again safety issues were brought up.

Lim urged residents to work closely with the police and make reports of crime, no matter how small the incident, so that the police have records of it.

“Some people think that it is unnecessary to do so but if you don’t, then the police would not know about the incident,” said Lim.

Another issue that was brought up was the worsening traffic congestion in the USJ area.

“The traffic is getting from bad to worse and there seems to be no end to it,” lamented one USJ11 resident.

Lim said one of the measures put in place to alleviate congestion was the LRT extension that would pass through Subang Jaya, and that construction works for the project had already started.

林祥才:推荐具胜算候选人 马华誓夺回柯拉娜再也




(梳邦再也15日讯)马华雪兰莪州联委会主席拿督林祥才誓言,柯拉娜再也国会选区将是雪州国阵来届大选必强夺的选区之一,并强调推介合适人选于该区上阵,重拾选民信心。

他指出,重夺柯拉娜再也国会选区是雪州国阵来届全国大选必然目标,州联委会也已推荐该区区适合人选名单,最终由国阵主席决定能够胜出人选。

“夺回柯拉娜再也国会选区的目标是肯定的,这由选民来做决定。”

梳邦再也与民交流

他今早连同马华柯拉娜再也区会主席王钟璇,赴梳邦再也各社区与民众进行交流一日活动时,这么强调。

出席者包括马华中央宣传局副主任卢诚国及柯拉娜再也区会财政曾祥辉等。

柯拉娜再也国会选区本是国阵的堡垒,但因2008年308大选大州反风,原本已担任3届梳邦再也州议员的拿督李华民,不敌“林甘影片”证人罗国本而落败。

罗国本是随父亲罗美桦前往林甘住所,针对家庭及商业事务寻求法律咨询时,暗中以手机录下林甘通电话的画面及对话内容,从而揭发干预法官委任事件。

国阵由王钟璇上阵

据悉来届大选,柯拉娜再也支会已一致同意推举区会主席王钟璇上阵,后者近年来也频频在国会选区服务民众,尤其是大型的社区活动都获得马华中央领袖出席到场支持,似乎有信心重夺回选区。

国阵与马华代表 与梳邦再也居民交流

众雪州国阵代表、马华中央领袖及马华柯拉娜再也区会代表,是在今天上午7时从USJ2首站,展开梳邦再也各社区居民交流一日全程活动。

活动全程包括上午时段USJ4区、SS14至SS15、USJ大班,以及USJ1区,众人从上午USJ2首站主持社区使用环保袋推介礼后,即逐区探访进行民声交流。

林祥才于上午8时在USJ4区与居民进行短暂交流,并接领居民提呈的民生投诉报告。

梳邦再也区亲民活动将持续进行至晚上,众领袖级也在中午走访USJ1区后,将在下午1时走访PJS7区,以及梳邦再也SS19区。

据悉,梳邦再也SS19区为下半天行程展开活动较长的时段,区内从下午2时至5时进行健康检查活动,而晚上则在子文华小举办亲民宴会。

而卫生部长拿督斯里廖中莱、房屋及地方政府部长拿督斯里曹智雄、教育部副部长拿督魏家祥,以及内政部副部长拿督李志亮也将于午后参与出席亲民晚宴。

此外,针对居民提出梳邦再也区交通阻塞及罪案投诉,林祥才回应道,政府自推行转型计划,社区罪案自2011年已有下降迹像,当局也计划未来增加警力。

林祥才:發揚中華文化 象棋應列學校活動




(吉隆坡16日訊)2012年“保健氏杯”第25屆全國象棋錦標賽將在5月30日至6月2日在森美蘭芙蓉舉行,冠軍得主除了獲得2千令吉獎金,也將獲得為期一年的“保健氏雞精”代言合約,價值1萬令吉,這對我國象棋運動而言是突破性的創舉。

財政部副部長兼馬來西亞象棋總會會長拿督林祥才日前受邀出席在保健氏公司舉行的新聞發佈會,並見證保健氏公司總裁拿督蘇錦鴻局紳與森州象棋公會會長陳正川的簽署合作協議書。

林祥才:象棋歷史文化悠久

林祥才在致詞時說,象棋是具有悠久歷史的中華文化,非常值得我們積極去推動與發展。

他指出,在越南象棋是被納入小學的正課裡,學生從小就接受正規的訓練,越南的冠軍甚至可以領國家工資,可見他們的重視程度。

他呼吁各州象棋公會多多舉辦學生賽以栽培幼苗,並希望中文報紙多加報導有關象棋活動的新聞。

料吸引超過65高手對弈

這項總獎金超過2萬令吉的全國大賽估計將吸引超過65名來自全馬各州象棋運動員參與。本屆賽會男子組冠亞軍和女子冠軍將代表我國參加10月杪在菲律賓馬尼拉舉辦的“第17屆亞洲象棋團體錦標賽”。

林祥才:今年财政赤字有望减至4.7%

(吉隆坡5日马新社讯)财政部副部长拿督林祥才今日告诉国会下议院,政府有望在今年将财政赤字减至4.7%。

他说,在政府执行谨慎开支和增加收入的措施下,4.7%是合理的目标。

“整顿财政的努力将继续减少财政赤字,就如在第十大马计划所提到的,在2015年时,赤字将少于3%。”

林祥才在问答环节回答伊斯兰党华玲议员泰益阿查慕登的提问时这么说。

泰益阿查慕登是询问有关政府在减少财政赤字方面所采取的措施。

林祥才也说,在政府推行谨慎开支和增加收入期间,财政赤字已经从2009年的7%减至2010年的5.6%,而去年则减至5%。

他说,政府推行多项积极措施和抢先战略,主要为了维持具效率和生产力的开销,来减少政府财政赤字,其中的措施包括检讨补贴确保它们符合政府的政策、避免浪费、减少非必要性开销以及强调“物有所值”概念。

林祥才也指出,财政部在政府采购方面执行透明和具效率的措施,包括采用电子系统、公开投标、减少政府在经济活动的参与以及增加私人领域的投资。

他表示,为了节省开销,所有政府部门都被鼓励共用政府的资产。除此之外,避免过度开销,中央政府的财政状况时时都在被监管当中。

“政府有信心在管理它的财政的同时,也能为国家带来高速经济增长以及保障人民的福祉。”

Defisit Fiskal Kerajaan Dijangka Turun Kepada 4.7 Peratus Daripada KDNK Pada 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 April (Bernama) -- Defisit fiskal Kerajaan Persekutuan dijangka dapat dikurangkan lagi kepada 4.7 peratus daripada Keluaran Dalam Negeri Kasar (KDNK) pada 2012, Dewan Rakyat diberitahu Khamis.

Timbalan Menteri Kewangan Datuk Ir Donald Lim Siang Chai berkata sasaran defisit fiskal itu adalah munasabah memandangkan usaha perbelanjaan berhemat dan hasil Kerajaan persekutuan dijangka meningkat.

"Konsolidasi fiskal akan diteruskan dengan sasaran paras defisit fiskal kepada kurang daripada 3.0 peratus daripada KDNK pada 2015 seperti yang telah diumumkan dalam Rancangan Malaysia Ke-sepuluh (RMK10)," katanya ketika menjawab soalan Taib Azamudden Md Taib (Pas-Baling) di Dewan Rakyat di sini hari ini.

Taib ingin tahu rancangan kerajaan untuk mengelakkan negara dari terus mengalami defisit.

Beliau berkata selaras dengan usaha konsolidasi fiskal dan amalan perbelanjaan yang berhemat, defisit fiskal telah dikurangkan daripada 7.0 peratus daripada KDNK pada 2009 kepada 5.6 peratus pada 2010 dan 5.0 peratus pada tahun lepas.

Fed govt's fiscal deficit to dwindle to 4.7 pct this year

KUALA LUMPUR (April 5, 2012): The Federal Government's fiscal deficit is expected to dwindle to 4.7 per cent of the gross domestic product (GDP) this year, Deputy Finance Minister Donald Lim Siang Chai told the Dewan Rakyat today.

He said 4.7 per cent was a reasonable target given the Federal Government's prudent spending and increasing revenue.

"Fiscal consolidation efforts will be continued to bring down the fiscal deficit to less than three per cent in 2015 as was pronounced in the 10th Malaysia Plan," he said when replying to Taib Azamudden Md Taib (PAS-Baling) during question-and-answer session.

Taib Azamudden had queried on measures taken by the government to redeem the nation from continuing to be under a fiscal deficit.

In tandem with fiscal consolidation efforts and prudent spending, Lim said the fiscal deficit has been reduced from seven per cent in 2009 to 5.6 per cent in 2010 ansd five per cent last year.

He said several pro-active and pre-emptive measures have been taken to ensure efficient and productive spending to reduce the financial deficit.

Among the measures are reviewing subsidies to ensure they conformed to government policies, avoid wastage, reduce non-critical expenditures and emphasise "value for money", he said.

He said the Treasury practised transparency and efficiency in government procurements, including using electronic system, adopt open tenders, minimise government's involvement in economic activities and increase private sector investments.

Ministries and departments are encouraged to share government assets as part of cost-saving initiatives, he said. Lim said the Federal Government's financial position would be closely monitored and controlled to avoid over-spending.

"The government is confident of managing its finances well besides ensuring high economic growth for the country and the people's well-being," he added. — Bernama

捐款学校宗教场所可扣税

(吉隆坡4日讯)財政部提呈2012年所得税修订法案一读,为纳税人提供以现金捐献学校及宗教场所的税务回扣。

財政部副部长拿督林祥才今日在国会下议院提呈相关法案一读,以修订1967年所得税法令第44(7)条文,针对「团体」的定义,加入新类別的团体,允许纳税人可针对捐献给受到內陆税收局总监所批准的团体提出扣税。

根据这项修订案,任何人捐献现金给相关团体用作建筑、改良或保养公开给民眾用作宗教用途的场所,或者进行及管理任何与宗教相关的活动,只要获得总监的批准,都可申请税务回扣。

首相拿督斯里纳吉於去年10月8日提呈的2012年度財政预算案在国会获得通过后,所有捐献现金给学校及宗教场所者可获得税务回扣。

林祥才:分阶段拟最低薪金制 企业应向首相署提建议




(吉隆坡31日讯)财政部副部长拿督林祥才促请企业雇主,在政府即将推行最低薪金制度政策前,向首相署表现管理及传递单位(PEMANDU)提出建议,分阶段拟定最低薪金制度,以确保本地雇主能负荷工资支付。

“雇主可向相关部门提出以分阶段拟出最低薪金制的建议,即在首阶段为大马公民拟出最低薪金,其次才是外劳。”

林祥才今晚出席拥瑞集团35周年纪念晚宴时,如是指出。

出席者包括大马知名婚纱礼服设计师纪添兴(Keith Kee)、拥瑞集团董事经理杜志辉、拥瑞集团董事杜湄湄及杜逸笙、以及拥瑞集团顾问拿督蔡兆源。

他认为,一旦政府实行最低薪金制度政策,雇主难免会一时间难以负荷,尤其是需要支付外劳,与国人相等的薪金,因此雇主有必要向政府反映此事。

林祥才:防次貸危機發生‧屋價飆升‧政府料干預




(八打灵再也3日讯)财政部副部长拿督林祥才说,国内屋价指数于去年第四季飙升6.6%至156.9点,政府正在采取一切必要的防范措施,确保类似美国的次贷危机不会在我国上演。

他说,国行、财政部和房屋及地方政府部一直在监督市场的走势,一旦屋价飙涨得太厉害,当局将会出手干预,确保国内的产业领域健康与稳定的成长。

“国行已经宣布一些防范措施,包括限制购买第三间屋子者,最高贷款额为屋价的70%,以及以净收入作为房屋借贷的考虑基础等,这有助遏止炒风。”

他推介《2011年马来西亚产业市场报告》和马来西亚产业资讯系统(P RIS MJ P PH)后,在新闻发布会上说,去年产业市场在巩固的经济和政府所采取的各项措施下,比2010年增长14.3%,交易量高达43万403,成交价增长 28.3%,达1千378亿令吉。

林祥才说,财政部预测今年的产业市场持续成长,而认为产业价格每年增长10至15%是健康与合理的涨幅。

他说,不过,若今年的产业价格涨幅超过15%,政府不排除会在明年度财政预算案中作出适度的干预,例如提高产业盈利税。

“我们会视情况而定,现在没有需要采取’冷却’措施,即使有必要干预,也只是适度的。”

他不认为现在会有产业泡沫的危机,屋价尚算合理,除了巴生河流域部份地区例外。

询及屋价若年涨10至15%,普通打工一族的薪金涨幅恐怕追不上的问题,他说,其实就东盟而言,我国的屋价已经比新加坡、泰国来得低。

“这只是暂时的数据,之后就会有稳定期,重要的是,政府正在通过一些措施确保人民居者有其屋,一旦大部份人拥有房屋,屋价上涨就不会是很大问题。 ”

他说,根据有关统计,我国约有700万个家庭,约3%拥有超过两间房屋,而20%则没有房屋,所以政府推行“我的首间房屋计划”,帮助这些人拥有属于本身的屋子。

平均52.7万,隆屋价全国最高

林祥才指出,吉隆坡的屋价仍然是全国最高,平均为48万7千219令吉,其中排屋平均价格为52万7千113令吉。

他说,其次是雪兰莪,平均屋价是32万7237令吉,排屋价格为32万5千951令吉。

他表示,在政府推行第十大马计划和2012年财政预算案的各项措施下,预料今年的产业市场会持续成长。

他说,整体而言,去年各种类的产业价格保持稳定,除了部份地区的产业价格出现上涨。

他说,国内屋价指数于去年第四季飙升6.6%至156.9点,全国屋价平均是21万7千297令吉。

林祥才指出,去年产业市场比2010年增长14.3%,交易量高达43万403间,成交价增长28.3%,达1千378亿令吉,创下5年来的新高。

他说,住宅继续主导去年的产业市场,占总交易量的62.7%。在市场开售的约5万个单位中,售出的超过46.3%,即2万2千个。

他说,25万令吉以下的房屋最“抢手”,占新开售房屋单位的45%。

至于商业单位,他指出,去年全国共兴建40栋新的办公楼,而吉隆坡办公室出租率达到80.4%,雪州、柔佛和槟城逾75%。

Tax deductions on religious donations Bill tabled

THE Income Tax (Amendment) Bill 2012, which seeks to allow taxpayers to claim for deductions for donations for religious purposes, was tabled for the first reading in the Dewan Rakyat.

The Bill, which was tabled by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim, seeks to allow a taxpayer to claim for deductions for contributions to the construction, improvement or maintenance of a public building for religious purposes.

The Government announced in Budget 2012 that it would expedite tax exemption approvals for all registered places of worship as well as education institutions, including registered national, national-type, mission and government-assisted religious schools.

Lim had previously said that the tax deductions could be claimed at a maximum of 7% of an individual’s salary, while companies were able to claim up to 10% of its annual income.

He said the tax exemption could also be claimed for cash contributions to non-profit organisations.

Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri said no new licences would be issued for flying academies.

He said this was because the ministry and the Department of Civil Aviation needed to reduce the number of unemployed new pilots.

年增值15%健康 大马房地產未过热

(吉隆坡3日讯)我国房地產价格每年增长10%至15%属健康水平,財政部副部长拿督林祥才认为,大马房地產目前未有过热现象,而国家银行已採取多项行动遏制屋价飆高现象。

他表示,即使吉隆坡的屋价上涨20%还是合理的,不过要在首都兴建豪宅,也需確保吉隆坡有其他种类的屋子供人民选择。

「要在吉隆坡建豪宅不是问题,但必须確保还有其他种类的房屋。」

林祥才表示,相对其他东盟国家,大马的屋价还是比较低的,政府的责任是要確保所有家庭都能拥有一栋房屋。

「一家网络公司曾进行一个调查,发现43%的大马家庭拥有超过2间屋子,20%的家庭是没有屋子的。因此政府才推出『我的第一间房屋』计划,与大马房屋公司合作推出亲民房屋计划。联邦直辖区部也出售人民组屋,让居者有其屋。」

询及政府是否会再提高產业盈利税遏制炒楼现象,林祥才表示此事政府会研究,最快也是在今年9、10月的2013年財政预算案宣佈。

避免炒楼风

他补充,目前国行已限制购屋者在购买第3栋房屋时贷款额最高70%,並在今年推动负责任贷款,这都是为了避免炒楼风。

林祥才今日推介2011年房地產报告书时说,大马房屋价格指数在2011年第4季上涨6.6%至156.9点,这也影响去年的通货膨胀率。去年通胀率为3.2%。

林祥才表示,各类房地產价格仍稳定,特定地点的价格则有上升趋势。

根据报告,吉隆坡排屋均价为52万7113令吉,雪兰莪则是32万5951令吉。

他强调,政府会以美国次贷危机为鉴,確保大马只有有能力贷款的人才能买屋子。

去年43万宗交易

2011年房地產刷新过去5年纪录,成交总值达1378亿3000万令吉,交易量达43万零403个单位。

相比2010年房地產表现,去年房地產的成交额及价值,分別涨14.3%及28.3%。

財政部副部长拿督林祥才说,住宅產业佔了总交易量的62.7%,上涨18.9%,达26万9789个单位。成交总值618亿3000万令吉,比2010年涨 22.1%。雪兰莪的房屋成交量佔全国之首,达7万5344个单位,即27.9%。2011年获批的房地產计划从2010年的23.6%增加至 32.2%。

他表示,今年房地產预料在第十大马计划及2012年財政预算的催谷下会继续成长。

他说,去年大马共推出5万个新住宅单位,其中2万2000个单位已成交,售出率达46.3%。在新的住宅產业中,25万令吉以下的单位佔45%。

在办公室產业中,全国商业单位的使用率达80%。吉隆坡办公楼的使用率达80.4%,至於雪州、柔佛和檳城的使用率则超过75%。

林祥才今日为2011年房地產报告书主持推介仪式后对记者说,大马去年外资达329亿令吉,因此当更多外国投资者来马时,办公室使用率將提高。

他预料,只要国家政治稳定,未来10年房產价格会继续上涨。针对2012年房地產前景,林祥才表示只要大马政治稳定,加上政府减少各种繁文縟节,肯定会对房地產带来正面影响。

Aktiviti hartanah meningkat 14.3%

AKTIVITI pasaran hartanah mencatat peningkatan tertinggi sejak lima tahun lalu iaitu 14.3 peratus membabitkan 430,403 transaksi, selain peningkatan nilai 28.3 peratus kepada RM137.8 bilion.

Timbalan Menteri Kewangan I, Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai berkata, angka itu membuktikan pasaran hartanah tahun lalu menunjukkan prestasi lebih baik dipacu pertumbuhan ekonomi kukuh selain disokong pelbagai langkah proaktif kerajaan.


“Sektor kediaman terus memacu pasaran harta keseluruhan dengan menguasai 62.7 peratus daripada jumlah transaksi. “Aktiviti pembinaan pula menunjukkan bilangan unit mula dibina dan kelulusan pelan bangunan juga meningkat tahun lalu. Ini menandakan keyakinan pemaju dan pelabur dalam aktiviti pembangunan,” katanya pada sidang media mengumumkan hasil Laporan Pasaran Harta 2011 di Kuala Lumpur, semalam.

Property sector continues to be on solid ground




KUALA LUMPUR: The property market would continue to be active this year, supported by various government initiatives under the 10th Malaysia Plan and Budget 2012, said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim.

“Last year, in terms of construction activities, the higher number of new unit starts and building plan approvals signified the confidence of developers and investors,” said Lim at the launch of Malaysia’s Property Market Report 2011.

According to the report, the performance of the residential sub-sector would be sustained, while vacant space in the office and retail sub-sectors is expected to be absorbed as more space is taken up during the progress of the country’s Economic Transformation Programme.

However, Lim also pointed out that the Government was worried about the emergence of a real estate bubble.

“We do not want a United States subprime mortgage crisis in Malaysia. We noted that a lot of foreigners from the Middle East and China are keen on buying properties here,” he said.

Lim said the Government would intervene when property prices were seen to have “shot up too high.”

“As such, measures such as the implementation of the maximum loan-to-value ratio of 70% for the third home and Bank Negara’s responsible lending guidelines were taken.”

According to data on Bank Negara’s website, the amount of loans applied for purchases of residential property increased by 17% year-on-year in the first two months of 2012 to RM26.7bil.

The amount of residential property loans approved during the period was RM12.25bil, which was 2.7% higher compared to a year earlier.

Last year, the property market performed strongly with the value of transactions rising 28.3% to RM137.8bil. Volume rose 14.3% to 430,403 transactions.

The report stated that market activity was led by the residential sub-sector, which had a double-digit expansion of 18.9%.

This was followed by the development land (14.7%), commercial (9.7%), industrial (6.5%) and agricultural (4.6%) sub-sectors.

In terms of value, all sub-sectors registered double-digit growth with two sub-sectors surpassing 50%, namely agricultural (65.4%) and development land (54.8%).

Despite more units launched, the performance of the residential market improved last year. In 2011, there were 49,290 units of new launches which achieved sales of 46.3%, compared with 47,698 units with 45.7% sales in 2010.

Selangor, Johor and Perak offered the most number (51.2% or 25,216 units combined) of new launches in the country.

In terms of market share, the residential sub-sector dominated with 62.7%, followed by the agricultural (19.7%), commercial (10.1%), development land (5.0%) and industrial (2.4%) sub-sectors.

The residential sub-sector also took up a 44.9% share of the transaction value in the market. Last year, there were 269,789 residential property transactions worth RM61.83bil, which was the highest recorded in the last five years.

Selangor retained the lion’s share by capturing 27.9% (75,344 transactions) of the country’s total transactions.

The demand for high-end units priced above RM500,000 had increased, with 21,905 transactions last year (compared with 16,782 transactions in 2010).

“This could be attributed to the increase in affordability level and supported by the ease in borrowing as well as attractive loan packages offered by financial institutions.”

By property type, terraced houses captured 36.6% (98,597 units) of residential transactions, of which about one-third were transacted in Selangor.

As at the end of 2011, there were 4.51 million existing residential units with 584,546 units in the incoming supply.

According to the report, the Malaysian All House Price Index had surged to 156.9 points in the fourth quarter of last year, compared with 147.2 points a year earlier.

多项课题悬而未决 林祥才建议撤换雪大臣

(吉隆坡2日讯)财政部副部长拿督林祥才今日就雪州系列悬而未决的课题,建议撤换雪州州务大臣丹斯里卡立的职位。

“万绕的高压电缆绕道问题、和雪州可能面临水荒的问题,至今都没有进展。”

林祥才今日在国会走廊召开记者会时,如此表示。

他首先针对万绕高压电课题做出抨击,指雪州民联政府曾在308大选时承诺,会在执政的100天内解决高压电问题。

“可是现在都4年多了,问题还是依然存在,我本身也赞同绕道,可是它至今未能解决,给万绕居民带来困扰。”

他表示,在去年12月22日的一项会议中,雪州州务大臣召开州经济理事会会议。

“该会议上有士拉央国州议员、我、国能代表、雪华堂代表陈亚才以及澳洲顾问公司出席。当时澳洲方面赞同绕道,目前只需要州政府选择绕道路线。”

林祥才将问题归咎于雪州民联政府,指若不能展开绕道工程,吉隆坡等地区将会面对大停电。

“一旦停电,将为一些工厂带来上亿令吉的损失。”

他说,当时会议上卡立表示会在1至2个星期内到万绕视察,并找出解决方案,可是至今已超过3个月,仍未见动静。

“这一切计划必须通过地方政府批准才能进行,作为一个州务大臣,无法兑现承诺,是非常不负责任的做法。”

另外,林祥才也提及有关雪州将在2014年面临水荒的课题。

“我曾经阅读有关报告,倘若雪州无法在2014年从彭亨州引进水供的话,雪州将面临水荒问题。”

他以美国国会朝野为了解决债务危机,达成共识为例,希望雪州朝野也能正视问题,因为这是雪州子民的问题。”

他说,目前应该继续雪州境内的水管输送工程,而价钱可以到往后才谈,因为工程是不能拖延。

因此,林祥才认为,倘若上述水电课题都无法处理,建议民联将州务大臣易人。

另外,媒体询及林祥才是否会攻打士拉央国会选区时,后者则表示,一切交有首相拿督斯里纳吉以及马华总会长拿督斯里蔡细历去决定。

Solve cable issue fast, MCA Selangor urged

HE Selangor government's failure to resolve Tenaga Nasional Bhd's (TNB) high-voltage power cable issue in Kampung Sungai Terentang, Rawang, could cause power failure in a few states and in Kuala Lumpur next month.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai said Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim had promised to resolve the issue last December during the Selangor Economic Action Council meeting.

"I had attended the meeting and Khalid promised to meet the villagers two weeks after the meeting.

"However, it has been close to three months and he has not set foot in the village," Lim said at the Parliament lobby yesterday.

Lim said the Parti Keadilan Rakyat-led government had given empty promises that it would resolve various issues in the state after taking over the state.

"The installation of the cables is important. If the project is not implemented, the whole country will face power failures.

"Other problems can be postponed, but such issues that involve important infrastructure for the benefit of the people need to be resolved as soon as possible."

Lim said TNB had even agreed to alternatives following a protest by the villagers who feared their health and quality of life would be affected by the high-voltage electricity flow over the village if the project was implemented.

"Consultants from Australia have already been appointed so why is this matter not resolved?"

TNB wants to install high-voltage cables over the villagers' land under the Central Area Reinforcement project, costing RM400 million, to supply electricity from power stations in Perak to several states to reduce the burden on other power stations.
